Who We Are
Dr. Lovejoy's Elixirs are made by the team at Freedom's Edge Cider. We are local, family-owned and operated, and we make our beverages with the finest ingredients available, right in Albion, Maine. Dr. Lovejoy is a character out of our, admittedly slightly twisted, imagination, but his name is a nod to Albion's most famous son, Elijah Parish Lovejoy. Raised on a farm in Albion, and a graduate of Colby College in Waterville, Lovejoy moved to Missouri where he published an abolitionist newspaper. In 1837, he was murdered by slave holders for refusing to silence his abolitionist views. His death directly inspired John Brown's raid on Harper's Ferry and led to the war to end slavery in America.
Our Mission
Our mission at Dr. Lovejoy's is simple: to craft the finest alcohol-free cocktails from the best ingredients available, and to infuse them with low doses of mood-enhancing extracts to create the "social tonic" effects of alcohol minus the regrets and hangovers. If you're looking to get blitzed, Dr. Lovejoy's low-dose THC and CBD/CBG/CBN beverages probably aren't for you...but if you're looking to unwind a bit from the stresses of the day, you've come to the right place.

We use only natural flavors in our Elixirs, and we produce them with the same quality and care that we bring to our Freedom's Edge Hard Ciders. Our commitment to quality means that each batch undergoes rigorous testing before it gets to you, and you can link to the lab test results of every beverage by scanning the QR code on the can and matching the batch number on the bottom of the can to the corresponding batch on our website.
How Our Products Are Made
We partner with Azuca for our hemp-based THC and CBD infusions, because they have a unique method of encapsulating individual molecules of THC and CBD to ensure perfect solubility (so you never get more or less effect than you expect) and high bioavailability, meaning that the active ingredients are quickly absorbed into the bloodstream and the onset of effects is rapid enough that you can enjoy our beverages in a social setting.
